God is Good!!!

One of the most amazing things that can happen for a mom happened on Saturday night. Ethan came into my room while I was trying to relax. I was just listening to my iPod and he asked if he could listen with me. I put in one of the ear buds for him and we just got to snuggle. After all of 10 seconds of no talking (which is a long time if you know Ethan LOL), he told me that he even when he was alone or even if Trevor was in their room but sleeping he knew God was always with him. Then he began to ask me if I was a Christan, if Daddy was a Christan, if Trevor was a Christian and just went down the line of some of our family members. Ethan asked me what you have to do to become a Christian so I told him about how Jesus died for us so that we can go to Heaven and how He changes your heart. He said he knew that already so I asked him if he wanted me to pray with him about it. That little boy said one of the sweetest prayers I've ever heard!!!!! It took everything I had not to burst into tears (and I'm not a crier!!!).

It just goes to show that you can learn much more from children than they learn from you. Salvation is kind of an abstract concept and I worried that would be hard for him to grasp. He's such a black and white thinker. Since he couldn't touch and feel and see salvation I wasn't sure how much of it he would understand despite how smart he is. I should have known better, huh?
God is and always will be stronger than Asperger's. Even if Ethan had never said it out loud, God knew his heart. Since he was able to pray with me about it, I also got to see into his heart and realize once again how big that little heart is and how much it can hold.
